Caterina Foti

Senior Researcher

Caterina is a quantum physicist. She is in love with quantum theory, to which she devoted her master thesis and her PhD. In the last years she has been committed in public outreach and in education, focussing on ways to convey quantum physics at high school level.

She is currently a postdoc at the University of Florence, and from September she will start a postdoc in Turku uniquely dedicated to QPlay. She did her studies (2008-2015) and her PhD (2015-2019) in Florence; she did the Erasmus Program at Freie University in Berlin (2013-2014) during her master studies, and during her PhD a 2 months internship at the Turku Centre for Quantum Physics in Turku (2017).

Before the postdoc position at the University of Florence, she has worked as a Physics and Math teacher in high school and as general physics instructor within American universities based in Florence.

In her spare time, she is an actress in the drama company “Nuova Compagnia di Prosa città di Firenze” and teacher, dramatist and director in the associated school of drama “NCP-Lab”.
